"Command, this is Odyssey. I've found something."

"Copy, Odyssey. What is it?"

"Ruins. On a planet in an uncharted system."

The Luminari leader appeared beside her. "These ruins predate our species. They could hold the key to the universe's origins."

"Then we need to explore them," Elena said.

The Odyssey landed near the ruins, their stone towers reaching toward the sky. The air was breathable, the temperature mild.

Elena led an away team into the ruins. The walls were covered in strange symbols, their meaning lost to time.

"There," the Builder said, pointing to a pedestal.

A holographic display flickered to life, revealing a figure-tall, silver-skinned, its eyes kind.

"We are the First Ones," it said. "We seeded the galaxy with life. We created the Builders, the Luminari, and humanity."

"Why?" Elena asked.

"To ensure that life would continue. The universe is vast, but it is also fragile. Protect it."

The figure faded. The pedestal glowed, revealing a map-a map of the universe, with threats marked in red.

"There are still dangers out there," the Luminari said.

"Then we'll face them together," Elena replied.

The Odyssey carried the map back to the colony.
